AirBNB Turnover Cleaning Process
-
The cleaning team arrives at the property and conducts an initial inspection to assess the space for any damages or maintenance needs. This helps ensure that everything is in working order and ready for the next guests.
-
All trash and recyclables from the previous guests are removed from every room, including bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms. This also includes clearing out any leftover food items from the fridge, cabinets, or pantry.
-
Every surface is wiped down, including countertops, tables, chairs, nightstands, and dressers. Special attention is given to high-touch areas such as light switches, door handles, remote controls, and faucets.
Dusting is done throughout the property, including shelves, baseboards, window sills, and ceiling fans.
-
The kitchen is thoroughly cleaned, starting with wiping down all countertops, backsplashes, and cabinets.
The sink, faucet, and any appliances such as the stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator are cleaned and sanitized. The inside of the microwave, oven, and refrigerator is wiped down, and any leftover food or crumbs are disposed of.
Dishware, silverware, and cookware are cleaned and put away. Any dirty dishes left behind by previous guests are washed and stored properly.
-
The bathroom(s) receive deep cleaning, with a focus on sanitizing sinks, counters, mirrors, bathtubs, showers, and toilets.
All surfaces are wiped down, and any soap scum, mold, or mildew is removed. Faucets and shower heads are scrubbed to maintain shine and functionality.
Fresh towels are replenished, and toiletries like soap, shampoo, and toilet paper are restocked.
Trash cans are emptied, and any used toilet paper or sanitary items are disposed of.
-
The beds are stripped of used linens, and fresh sheets, pillowcases, and blankets are provided. If necessary, the mattress is checked for cleanliness, and any stains or marks are addressed.
The room is dusted, and any furniture such as dressers, nightstands, and desks is wiped down.
The floors are vacuumed or swept, and any rugs are cleaned or vacuumed.
-
Living rooms, dining areas, and any additional common spaces are cleaned, with an emphasis on vacuuming or sweeping the floors.
Furniture is dusted and wiped down, and any upholstery is vacuumed to remove dirt, crumbs, or pet hair.
Decorative items such as throw pillows, blankets, and pictures are adjusted for neatness, and any visible dust or dirt is removed from surfaces.
-
Depending on the type of flooring, all floors are either vacuumed or swept and mopped. Carpets are vacuumed thoroughly, and hardwood or tile floors are mopped to remove any spots or stains.
-
All used linens, including sheets, pillowcases, towels, and blankets, are collected and taken to the laundry area or sent to a laundry service for washing.
Fresh linens are placed on the beds, and clean towels are neatly folded or hung in the bathrooms.
-
The team checks that the property is well-stocked with essential items like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, trash bags, and guest amenities (such as coffee, tea, and bottled water).
Toiletries are neatly arranged in the bathroom, and any complimentary items like soaps or shampoo are replaced.
Decorative items such as cushions, throws, and artwork are adjusted to create a welcoming and homely atmosphere.
-
A final walk-through is done to ensure that all areas are spotless, and nothing has been overlooked.
If needed, the cleaning company may take a few photos to share with the property owner or manager as evidence of the clean state.
-
If applicable, the key or lockbox is checked to ensure the next guests have easy access.
The cleaning team may also make sure that the property is secure, ensuring all windows and doors are locked.
